About Eric Leach

I have lived for over 40 years in Ealing and over 30 years in West Ealing. Born in Bury, Lancashire I read Geography at UCL in London 1963-65. Following an early teaching career I then worked in the computer industry, initially as a programmer before moving into marketing. I started my own IT marketing consultancy in 1983 with clients in UK, Germany and USA and retired in 2004.

I served as a Parent Governor at Fielding Primary and Drayton Manor Secondary schools in the 1980s. I was Chair of Bloomsbury Housing Society (74 flats) in West Acton in 1976.

West Ealing Neighbours (WEN) was founded in 2005. I joined WEN in 2006 and became Vice-Chair in 2007. I have been a member of Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace for 20 years. Local organisations I’m a member of include Ealing Civic Society, Brent River & Canal Society, Ealing Transition Town, Ealing Passenger Transport Users’ Group, Ealing Friends of the Earth and the GWR Preservation Group.

As a Lancastrian, speaking my mind comes naturally and I’ve never been shy about asking difficult questions. I have been married for 36 years and our two grown up sons have now left home and both live in Ealing. I have the time, health, energy and enthusiasm to make Walpole Ward a better place for residents, businesses and visitors.
